PIC seems to be an "Attribute" of binary code, which type of binary code can be executed regardless of which memory location it's loaded into. Is it correct? PIC/no-PIC have no strong relationship with statically/dynamically linked executable.

I have read about GCC's Options for Code Generation Conventions, but could not understand what "Generate position-independent code (PIC)" does. Please give an example to explain me what does it mean. In assembly language each operation is specified using an instruction of the related architecture's instruction set which in your case is an 8-bit PIC architecture. I had this same problem.
